The Illinois Law Enforcement Executive Institute was created in June 1992 by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. Through training and technical assistance, the Executive Institute is designed to address the myriad of public police and management challenges that top-level administrators currently face and those that will emerge as important issues during the course of the next decade and beyond.

Training and Development for Law Enforcement Executives The Executive Institute provides a range of services and programs to Illinois law enforcement executives. These services include the following:

The Executive Management Program
Executive Forums
New Police Chiefs Orientation Program
Research
Regional support for executive development programs
Publications relevant to police administration
Legal updates
Special topic programs developed from grant awards for law enforcement training
Cooperative initiative

Applications are now being accepted for upcoming class.

The Enduring, Surviving & Thriving as a Law Enforcement Executive is a course for Police executives in their new position as chief executive of a law enforcement agency are encouraged to attend as early as possible in their initial 18 months in office. The class is April 23-27, 2007, in Springfield, Illinois.
